The platform, the database and the screenshots live on our servers in Germany. So your data stays neatly within European rules.
Trust and GDPR
Your data, properly handled.
You put Burly on your own site, in front of your own customers, and we take that trust seriously. That is why we keep data in the EU, store as little as possible and say exactly who does what with it. So you know where you stand and can tell your customers how it works with peace of mind.
Data processing agreement
For your visitors data we are the processor. You simply accept the data processing agreement in the app, without paperwork going back and forth.
As little as possible
We only keep what a visitor fills in or sends. No profiles and no reselling, because your visitors data is not ours.
No IP addresses
Company recognition does not store IP addresses, only a hashed code for up to 30 days.
Fixed retention
Screenshots are deleted after 90 days by default, and you set it per project anywhere between 7 and 365 days. Lookups at the KVK and VIES are deleted after 90 days.
Consent where needed
Without consent Visitor insight only counts anonymously. You only see the route per visitor once that visitor has given consent.
Questions about data
Who are your subprocessors?
Hosting at Netcup (Germany), Cloudflare, Mollie for payments, our mail provider and Sentry for error reports. For Company recognition also Snitcher B.V. (the Netherlands), for Company check and the free tools the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and the European Commission (VIES).
Can a reporter hide personal data?
Yes, and it is very easy. In the feedback widget you blur part of the screenshot before sending, so sensitive information simply stays out of view.
What happens when I cancel?
We keep account data for up to 30 days after cancelling. Invoices are kept for 7 years, as the law requires.
Do I need a cookie banner for Burly?
Not for the chat button and anonymous counts. To see the route per visitor you ask for consent through your own banner or Cookiebot.
